Various grants and funding options are available to businesses of all sizes for research and development, co-investment and technological innovations. SE provides guidance on the most appropriate grant for you and support you throughout the application process.
Scottish Investment Bank
The Scottish Investment Bank (SIB) offers a range of investment funds, designed to help Scottish businesses at different stages of growth, including:
- The Scottish Seed Fund
- The Scottish Co-investment Fund
- The Scottish Venture Fund
- The Scottish Loan Fund
Equity funding can be an effective way to help start or grow your business. Receiving external investment in exchange for a share of your business brings additional experience, expertise and business acumen, as well as funding.
The three equity funds operate a co-investment and shared risk model on a fully commercial basis. They are aimed at encouraging private investors into the market with the aim of investing in early stage companies with growth potential.
SE offer three equity funds:
Scottish Seed Fund
Funding from £20,000 to £250,000 for early stage businesses launching new products, entering new markets and increasing employment.
Scottish Co-investment Fund
Funding from £100,000 to £1 million for deals of up to £2 million between Scottish businesses and our private sector partners.
Scottish Venture Fund
Funding from £500,000 to £2 million for deals between £2 million and £10 million between Scottish businesses and our private sector partners.
SE have an on-going portfolio management of completed investments which oversees relationships with management teams, investment partners and Scottish Enterprise.
Iain and Gill have met the gatekeepers or Chairpersons of many of the Co Investment partners in Scotland and as Linc Corporate partners are well placed when approaching funders for equity as a co investment with one of the SE funds.
